About the role
- Senior Website Project Manager leading Drupal and WordPress builds and support projects. Kanopi Studios designs, develops, and supports mission-driven websites.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Drupal and/or WordPress build and support projects, including complex, high-visibility accounts
- Serve as primary client contact and trusted advisor
- Translate client business needs for internal teams and maintain alignment
- Manage client communications, meetings, feature demonstrations, updates, and next steps
- Identify larger project and initiative opportunities and make recommendations to Management
- Understand managed websites and proactively recommend improvements
- Lead project and client onboarding, kickoff calls, and build-to-support transitions
- Curate and maintain organized, prioritized backlogs
- Evaluate tasks and client requests against goals and scope and recommend alternatives
- Handle quick-win site configurations, content entry, and initial bug troubleshooting in Drupal and/or WordPress
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve blockers and anticipate needs
- Forecast and coordinate developers, UX/UI designers, and strategists
- Review completed designs, tickets, content, and development work for quality before handoff
- Monitor and forecast budgets and timelines and report progress to clients and Management
- Flag, mitigate, triage, and escalate risks and urgent support requests
- Use Teamwork, Slack, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Claude
- Participate in and lead meetings, standups, retrospectives, and process-improvement discussions
- Monitor workloads and pacing to support sustainable team balance
- Build and document repeatable processes
- Mentor and support other project managers
Requirements
- 5+ years of digital agency project management experience, including leading Drupal and/or WordPress projects
- Proven track record managing the full life cycle of web build projects and long-term client support engagements
- Fluency in agile workflows, ticketing systems, and client documentation
- Proficiency with AI tools like Claude
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting bugs, working with site configurations, and managing content in Drupal and/or WordPress
- Strong working knowledge of website performance, configuration, and development fundamentals
- Ability to balance scope, timelines, and budgets while maintaining quality and team morale
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience forecasting and resourcing development project needs
- Ability to set clear priorities and communicate shifts effectively
- Proactive, empathetic, and confident communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple active projects and maintain attention to detail
- Solution-oriented approach to risk mitigation, issue tracking, change management, and escalations
- Strong problem-solving skills, emotional intelligence, and initiative
- Experience mentoring or guiding project managers or team members
- Passion for the web and open source software such as Drupal and WordPress
- Experience managing distributed project teams in a remote-first environment
- Availability during core Pacific Time Zone hours
- Legally authorized to work in the US or Canada
