About the role

Senior Engineer supporting mine water management planning and design projects at an employee-owned firm. Responsibilities include project management, technical direction, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

Serve as Project Manager for mine water management planning and design projects.
Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resourcing.
Act as primary client contact and lead technical meetings and discussions.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, integration, and timely delivery of work.
Lead detailed design of water management infrastructure, including diversions, conveyance systems, storage facilities, pumping systems, and related civil works.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting field reviews as required.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mining Engineering (or related field).
Professional Designation with EGBC or APEGA.
15+ years of relevant experience in mine water management infrastructure planning and design.
Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects, including scope, budget, and schedule accountability.
Strong experience delivering detailed design of mine water management infrastructure.
A valid driver’s license (in good standing) is mandatory.
Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain.
