About the role
- Part-time highway maintenance operator maintaining Ontario highways with snowplows and heavy equipment for Ledcor Highways Ltd. Supporting year-round road safety and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round
- Assist with labourer duties including pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, and hazard remediation
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Respond to various weather patterns through shift work, on-call, and night-shift coverage
Requirements
- Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
- Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including regularly lifting 50 lbs., bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
- Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
- Must be available for shift work, on-call, and night shifts
- Must be able to work schedules of 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off
- Must be able to work daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours
