About the role
- Part-time winter operator maintaining Ontario highways with snowplows and heavy equipment. Ledcor provides infrastructure construction and maintenance services across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round
- Assist with labourer duties including pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, and hazard remediation
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Respond to varying weather patterns through shift work, on-call, and night shift coverage
Requirements
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
- Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
- Previous experience operating a snow plow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
- Shift work, on-call, and night shift required
- Ability to work 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off
- Daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours
- Winter seasonal availability from October 1 to April 30
- Local applicants preferred due to the work location
