Responsibilities
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network hardware and software, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, to ensure 24/7 connectivity.
Regularly update and patch network devices and servers to maintain compliance with ISO 27001 security standards.
Support computing environments and cloud networking components within IBM Cloud.
Act as the primary escalation point for network and telecommunications issues, resolving break/fix tickets and service requests within established SLAs.
Maintain the physical standards and organization of on-site wiring closets across the enterprise.
Ensure accuracy of network diagrams, site configurations, and IT asset management records.
Audit telecom related vendor billing to ensure accurate business unit allocations and removal/turn down of unnecessary circuits.
Liaise effectively with third-party partners, vendors, and external clients for troubleshooting support and ongoing MACD.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and upgrades to enhance network efficiency.
Participate in an on-call rotation for addressing network emergencies outside of business hours.
Requirements
College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role with a strong emphasis on production support and troubleshooting.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Hands-on experience with Fortinet (FortiGate/FortiManager) or comparable SD-WAN platforms is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud networking is a significant asset.
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications: Vendor-specific certifications (Fortinet, CCNA/CCNP, IBM Cloud) are preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA, ITIL and other Cloud certifications) are a plus.
