About the role

  • Manager overseeing operational risk governance, reporting, and mitigation for Manulife’s global wealth and asset management business. Supporting risk committees, business officers, metrics, assessments, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the AVP Head of GWAM Risk Center in implementing and executing an effective risk governance management program
  • Oversee operational risk mitigation activities for the GWAM segment
  • Create and deliver tools and reports addressing corporate risk, business, client, and regulatory needs
  • Support the GWAM Risk Management Committee with reporting and action-plan tracking
  • Review and support business Risk Officers with operational risk event management and corrective-action-plan tracking
  • Consolidate and report incidents, issues, actions, and other risk programs
  • Aggregate metrics across GWAM businesses
  • Monitor business assessments and change-management initiatives
  • Coordinate with other Manulife risk functions on reporting and analysis for corporate risk programs
  • Build relationships with risk team members to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient management reporting
  • Contribute to risk-management initiatives and projects
  • Handle ad hoc requests and inquiries

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in risk management, finance, or audit
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and present data and information effectively
  • Ability to synthesize complex information from various sources and identify key insights and issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative team-player mindset with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset
  • For successful candidates in Québec, proficiency in English and French is required to support clients from provinces outside Québec
  • Familiarity with the asset and wealth management industry is an advantage
