About the role
- Senior MuleSoft engineer designing secure APIs and Azure integrations for Manulife, an international financial services provider. Mentoring engineers and advancing cloud-native enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs and integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and API-led connectivity principles
- Build and support cloud-native integration services leveraging Azure technologies, including AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Key Vault
- Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevOps practices
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions
- Troubleshoot and optimize integration performance, reliability, observability, and operational support processes
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Mentor junior team members and foster technical excellence and continuous improvement
- Influence technical direction and shape integration architecture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 5–10 years of software engineering experience, including enterprise integration development
- 4+ years of hands-on MuleSoft development experience, including CloudHub 1.0 and CloudHub 2.0
- Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and enterprise integration patterns
- Proficiency in Java and experience building scalable, event-driven, and microservices-based solutions
- Solid understanding of API security, performance optimization, monitoring, and observability practices
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and relational databases (SQL)
- Experience deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure, including Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Flux
- Knowledge of GraphQL and event-driven integration architectures
- Working knowledge of React, Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- MuleSoft Developer and/or Architect certifications are considered an asset
