About the role

  • Bilingual Team Leader managing Disability Claim Specialists for Medavie, a Canadian health solutions partner. Overseeing claims operations, quality, coaching, recruitment, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of a team of Disability Claim Specialists
  • Ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development for team members
  • Advise team members on direction and procedures for complex claims
  • Provide information and answer questions and requests
  • Communicate with stakeholders to manage relationships effectively
  • Gather business, financial, service and operations information for strategic goals
  • Identify and evaluate trends and opportunities; define objectives and evaluate outcomes
  • Analyze and resolve quality and client service problems
  • Identify trends and seek operational efficiencies
  • Recruit qualified talent and train employees
  • Guide employees in career development
  • Contribute information and opinions at Team Leader meetings
  • Build and maintain inter- and intradepartmental relationships

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business, medical or rehabilitation management
  • Two years or more of people management experience
  • Two to three years of direct work experience in Life and Disability insurance
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required
  • English proficiency is required
  • Insurance designation (LOMA or other) will be considered an asset
