About the role
- Accounting Lead managing books and month-end financial reporting for startup clients at Meow. Owning client portfolios, reviewing preparer work, and improving scalable accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships
- Own the creation, review, and issuance of accurate and timely monthly financial statements for 20–40 clients
- Manage and train the preparer team to produce reliable financials and maintain strong client margins
- Communicate with clients via Slack and email, answer questions, and obtain information for month-end closes
- Clean and set up new books for newly signed clients
Requirements
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting
- Experience reviewing the work of bookkeepers or junior accountants
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with founders
