About the role
- Accounting Lead owning monthly financials and client relationships for Meow, which provides startups with business accounts, cards, bookkeeping, tax, and reporting. Managing preparers and scaling close processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships
- Own the creation, review, and issuance of flawless and timely monthly financials for 20-40 clients
- Manage and train the preparer team for bullet-proof financials and strong client margins
- Communicate with clients via Slack and Email, answering questions and obtaining information for closes
- Clean and set up new sets of books for newly signed clients
- Improve how work gets done through systems thinking and process ownership
Requirements
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting
- Experience reviewing the work of others (bookkeepers or junior accountants)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with founders
