About the role

  • HR Specialist supporting managers and employees across the Americas for Mitel, a global business communications company. Managing Workday data, leave processes, onboarding, reporting, and HR improvements remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR support to managers and employees in the Americas (US and Canada) region
  • Respond promptly to internal and external customers
  • Manage employee data in the Workday HRIS system
  • Support leave of absence processes, including documentation and employee and vendor communications
  • Answer questions about company personnel policies and procedures
  • Compile sensitive and confidential personnel statistics and prepare HR activity reports
  • Organize and maintain electronic files and records
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team with timely and proper completion of onboarding documentation for new hires
  • Recommend and implement HR process improvements
  • Manage vendors
  • Complete special projects as needed
  • Handle confidential information and issues requiring discretion as an individual contributor

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or high school diploma + relevant experience preferred
  • 2–3 years minimum Human Resources specialist-level experience required
  • Strong Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, required
  • Macro experience desired
  • Word proficiency, including mail merges
  • Previous experience with HRIS; Workday experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in the US and Canada preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy, outstanding follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work remotely and autonomously to meet required deadlines and accountabilities
