About the role
- Full Stack Developer building secure, scalable data platforms and AI solutions for Morgan Stanley’s financial services business. Combining Java, Python, Angular, databases, and ETL engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop resilient on-premises and multi-cloud database solutions
- Develop high-performance large-scale data and metadata processing solutions
- Deliver secure database and ETL capabilities with scalability, governance, and reliability
- Build full-stack applications with responsive web interfaces, RESTful APIs, backend services, and database/ETL integrations
- Develop self-service capabilities, operational dashboards, workflow automation, and metadata-driven solutions
- Create AI-driven solutions to discover, classify, and protect sensitive information in unstructured data
- Build pushdown optimization, ELT, ETL, Spark processing and streaming, replication, partitioning, clustering, CDC, and time-travel debugging solutions
- Create automation and tooling for firmwide data engineering and application development teams
- Contribute to system modernization, platform standardization, observability, and cost-efficiency initiatives
- Develop database backup/restore, DDL, access-management, and high-performance data-movement solutions
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing complex database and data solutions with full-stack application development
- Strong expertise across multiple database platforms and environments, including PostgreSQL, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase, Snowflake, Azure SQL, MongoDB, Teradata, and Oracle
- Hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, Python, REST APIs, and Angular
- Strong understanding of API design, microservices architecture, OAuth, service principals, token-based authentication, and secure application development
- Experience writing complex Python scripts for multithreaded, multiprocess, concurrent, and asynchronous solutions
- Experience with AI-powered solutions using LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows
- Ability to build and optimize data pipelines and architectures; Talend, Kafka, and/or Informatica preferred
- Expertise in performance optimization, scalability, troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving, and software design
- Knowledge of French and English is required
