About the role

  • Senior QA Automation Developer expanding Playwright automation for nesto’s cloud-native mortgage technology platform. Integrating testing into CI/CD and shaping end-to-end quality for enterprise lending programs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable automated test suites in Playwright
  • Partner with architects, developers, product managers, and Staff QA Automation Developers across the SDLC
  • Clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria early
  • Drive quality across UI and API testing using monitoring signals, incident reviews, and customer feedback
  • Prioritize automation coverage with Delivery leadership, stakeholders, and partners
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD for continuous coverage
  • Define comprehensive test plans from URDs, PRDs, HLDs, product, and design specifications
  • Support User Acceptance Testing for key projects and partner or client integrations
  • Use AI to accelerate automated test development and maintenance, and share effective practices
  • Improve quality processes, documentation, and team workflows
  • Review and execute manual test cases, validate features against test plans, and add appropriate scenarios to automated regression coverage
  • Establish working automation framework and achieve 60–80% automation of critical scenarios within 90 days
  • Run automation in CI/CD pull-request workflows within six months

Requirements

  • 5+ years of QA experience testing SaaS or cloud applications
  • Deep understanding of the full SDLC and Quality Engineering’s role in development
  • 2+ years of hands-on test automation framework experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar
  • Experience authoring and maintaining end-to-end test suites
  • Strong background in TypeScript and/or Go
  • Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases is a plus
  • Automation-first track record with reliable CI/CD coverage
  • Full-stack testing across UI and API layers
  • API validation experience with tools such as Postman
  • Test architecture and scalable design expertise
  • Experience with Page Object Model, data factories, and separation of concerns
  • Agile fluency and comfort with rapid release cycles
  • Familiarity with test management platforms such as Allure TestOps
  • Initiative and an ability to bring a plan and point of view
  • Willingness to use AI tools in daily work
  • Candidates must be based in Canada
  • Ability to work Eastern Time hours is strongly preferred
