About the role

  • Technical Project Manager supporting engineering, execution, and commissioning of North American wind farms. Coordinating technical teams for Nordex, a global wind energy manufacturer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input concerning operations to the Project Manager
  • Manage interfaces and communications across Mechanical, Electrical, and Control engineering groups
  • Provide leadership and direction to engineering subject matter experts addressing RFIs and open project issues
  • Track and manage technical interfaces, risks, opportunities, and actions; identify and close necessary interventions
  • Oversee planning and execution of technical operations according to project schedules
  • Prepare presentations and status update reports for technical and project management leadership teams
  • Ensure knowledge transfer between projects and capture lessons learned and continuous improvements
  • Handover projects to the Services Organization
  • Support technical operations for wind farm project execution and commissioning in North America

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
  • Project Management program
  • 15+ years of experience managing a combination of projects associated with onshore wind turbine design and Balance of Plant design
  • Knowledge and experience with turbine design
  • Knowledge and experience with Balance of Plant design
  • Knowledge and familiarity with NERC reliability standards
  • Comfortable managing and coordinating technical support from different Engineering groups
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Clear and concise technical report writing and presentation skills
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft software (Office, etc.)
  • English and French proficiency required; German and Spanish are a plus
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Ability and willingness to travel (20% typical)
  • Must be able to work in Canada without company sponsorship and be able to obtain a valid passport
  • Ability to successfully complete Canadian pre-employment regulatory screening requirements
  • Full valid driver’s license and insurability under the company auto insurance policy
  • Commitment to safety protocols, procedures, regulations, and company policies
  • Fluent spoken and understood English for safety and job-related communication
