Responsibilities
Design, develop and support LTE/5G NR radio interface protocol components, including Layer 1 control, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC and NAS
Collaborate with customers, product management and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions
Contribute to software design, implementation, testing, integration and production deployment
Review software architecture, identify improvement opportunities and lead performance and reliability enhancements
Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues raised by customers, field deployments and verification teams
Develop proofs of concept (PoC), prototypes and technology demonstrators for new wireless features and concepts
Evaluate new 3GPP features and emerging wireless technologies through feasibility studies and technical analysis
Prepare and maintain design, interface and technical documentation
Mentor team members and contribute to the advancement of engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field
8 to 10 years of experience in LTE and/or 5G NR protocol development
Strong expertise in one or more areas related to LTE/NR Layer 1 control, MAC, PDCP, RLC, RRC or NAS
Solid understanding of 3GPP LTE and 5G NR specifications and signaling procedures
Strong C/C++ programming skills on Linux, RTOS or embedded platforms
Experience with IPC mechanisms, multithreading, debugging and performance optimization
Strong design, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Agile development, version control systems, testing methodologies and software delivery processes
Ability to obtain security clearance
Knowledge of LTE/NR PHY protocols, UMTS or GSM Access Stratum
Experience with R&D projects, technology evaluation and PoC development
Exposure to systems integration, performance analysis and operator-grade wireless systems
Strong analytical and communication skills
Self-driven, innovative and passionate about wireless technologies
Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams
