OCWA is Central New York’s Water Authority, a public water utility/authority created by the New York State Legislature that provides safe, reliable and economical potable water and manages water infrastructure across Central New York. The organization operates and maintains water treatment and distribution systems, conducts water-quality monitoring and reporting (including lead service line identification, algae monitoring, and annual water quality reports), manages capital improvement projects and water-main replacement/extension programs, oversees hydrants, meters and backflow prevention, handles customer billing and emergency response, and engages in watershed and lake-level monitoring and public education.

• Implement programs supporting environmental compliance, process control and health and safety requirements for regional water and wastewater treatment processes
• Inspect, operate and monitor processes and equipment
• Make process control adjustments and resolve operating issues
• Analyze data and monitor local performance against legal requirements and corporate goals
• Evaluate compliance and water/wastewater quality status at treatment facilities
• Conduct internal audits and inspections, respond to findings and make recommendations
• Provide technical compliance advice to internal and external contacts
• Facilitate in-house training for operations staff
• Prepare technical letters, reports and procedures containing photos, charts and graphs
• Provide training and presentations to teams in person and online
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Travel throughout the Cluster and participate in emergency or on-call coverage
