About the role

  • Senior Negotiations Specialist supporting physician-service agreement negotiations for Ontario’s medical association. Managing cross-functional projects, research, stakeholder consultations, and policy analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the operations of OMA Negotiations Task Force meetings, bilateral negotiations, and other meetings as needed
  • Guide project planning for negotiations, including trackers, timelines, critical paths, and monitoring deliverables from project initiation through closeout
  • Support research and analysis across multiple departments
  • Synthesize and summarize complex information
  • Prepare presentations, reports, briefing documents, and critiques of proposals from groups, members, and stakeholders
  • Ensure the Negotiations Task Force understands issues and potential conflicts
  • Work with committees and physician leaders to identify solutions and resolve problems
  • Monitor emerging trends, policy changes, and system issues affecting physician compensation and practice
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including OMA members, industry colleagues, health care providers, research representatives, and government officials
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations and program scans
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational priorities on a cross-functional team

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Health Administration, Economics, Business, Political Science or equivalent
  • Four to five years’ experience in research, committee operations, analysis, and project management
  • Ability to lead projects consisting of cross-functional resources through project plan and implementation in a fast-paced environment
  • Applied knowledge and experience in Ontario’s health care sector is ideal
  • PMP certification or formal project management training would be considered an asset
  • Experience in conflict resolution and knowledge translation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external customers/stakeholders

  • Required to work a minimum number of days in the Toronto office
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for any employer without employer sponsorship and able to provide supporting documentation
