About the role
- C++ developer building optimized, multithreaded real-time simulation software for large-scale electrical networks. Supporting OPAL-RT Technologies’ global engineering, energy, and industrial customers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in defining, implementing, and improving product architecture
- Design and implement innovative solutions that meet real-time performance requirements
- Develop features for a large-scale real-time electrical grid simulation platform
- Collaborate with electrical grid simulation specialists to deliver high-quality solutions to internal and external customers
- Comply with established quality standards
- Collaborate as part of a team in an Agile environment
- Work within the CPU & Cloud Division on state-of-the-art simulation tools
- Support engineering firms, power producers, transmission and distribution system operators, and universities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field
- At least 5 years of software development experience
- Relevant experience with C++
- Experience with C++ and Python
- Experience with multithreaded programming
- Experience with Git
- French is mandatory
- English proficiency is required to communicate with colleagues and partners outside Quebec
- Autonomy, curiosity, strong interpersonal and communication skills, team spirit, and an interest in code optimization
- Knowledge of Go and Java is an asset
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink is an asset
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is an asset
- Experience with cross-platform and/or real-time systems programming is an asset
