About the role
- Business Intelligence Analyst developing data products, dashboards and insights for the Government of Alberta. Supporting data strategy, governance and evidence-based decisions across departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on business intelligence support for strategic data initiatives under the Data Strategy
- Translate data into actionable business insights supporting strategic decisions
- Create dashboards, reports and business KPIs
- Deliver business intelligence capabilities for internal and external client needs
- Develop analytical data products and services based on various data sets
- Analyze data and prepare results
- Gather and document client requirements
- Design and develop data products
- Capture business and technical metadata for data products
- Perform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data mining
- Develop and share data models and products
- Develop baseline and ongoing outcomes, key results, metrics and other indicators
- Provide insights, support decision-making and facilitate strategic business planning
- Integrate quantitative and qualitative data to create business insights
- Design and create dashboards and custom reporting
- Escalate issues and risks as appropriate
- Work within a multi-vendor/staff environment
Requirements
- Experience in data analysis, data modelling, statistical analysis, data governance, data science, data quality, advising, business analysis, data product design and delivery
- Ability to create dashboards, reports and business KPIs
- Ability to develop data products based on various data sets
- Ability to analyze data and prepare results
- Ability to gather and document client requirements
- Ability to design and develop data products
- Ability to capture and document business and technical metadata
- Experience performing data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data mining
