About the role
- React Native Developer scaling Pelmorex’s weather apps, including The Weather Network and MétéoMédia. Building high-performance mobile features with React Native, AWS, CI/CD, and modern AI tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance features for React Native applications
- Own end-to-end features, from writing clean, robust code through deployments to the App Store and Google Play
- Manage deployments using Jenkins and Fastlane
- Optimize code for performance, low latency, and heavy traffic spikes
- Leverage AWS and on-premise infrastructure for backend service support
- Refactor legacy systems and write greenfield code
- Utilize GitHub Copilot to accelerate unit testing and boilerplate development
- Champion engineering best practices
- Participate in code reviews
- Collaborate across an ecosystem using AWS, Go, Node.js, and Kubernetes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with React Native and React
- TypeScript proficiency highly preferred
- Proven experience deploying and managing mobile applications to the Play Store and App Store
- Experience with automated CI/CD tools such as Fastlane and Jenkins
- Comfortable integrating GitHub Copilot into daily workflow
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based architectures
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Experience with microservices
- Familiarity and experience with unit and integration testing
- Comfortable refactoring legacy code and writing new code from scratch
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Able to work in a hybrid model at the Oakville location
