Responsibilities
Provide field-based medical and scientific expertise in oncology to internal and external stakeholders
Communicate key regional insights and help shape medical and cross-functional strategic plans
Lead the development and execution of the regional medical plan
Foster peer-to-peer relationships with key healthcare providers and researchers
Execute regional medical tactics through scientific excellence, medical professionalism, and business acumen
Identify and manage research, educational, and partnership opportunities with external stakeholders
Engage in non-promotional interactions and provide accurate, balanced, fair, non-misleading, scientifically supported information, including safety data
Provide medical expertise on products and therapeutic areas to healthcare providers and researchers
Identify, champion, and leverage research opportunities to establish Pfizer Canada as a medical and research leader
Conduct activities ethically and in compliance with Pfizer policies, ICH guidelines, the Innovative Medicines Canada Code of Ethical Practices, and local regulatory requirements
Requirements
Required: MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent doctoral degree in health sciences
Experience in medical affairs, clinical research, and/or health services research, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Oncology experience, particularly in breast and prostate cancer, is an asset
Strong business acumen, including an understanding of Canadian healthcare systems, patient management, and the provincial and national pharmaceutical environment
Strong analytical skills and the ability to critically evaluate clinical studies, protocols, and publications
Proven strategic thinking skills and the ability to interpret and implement strategic direction
Performance-driven, customer-focused mindset and effective cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to adapt to evolving therapeutic areas and portfolios
Creativity, resourcefulness, energy, and flexibility
Ability to work autonomously and learn independently
Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Willingness to travel up to 50% and work a non-standard schedule
Hybrid work environment with virtual and in-person interactions
Bilingualism in French and English; advanced spoken and written English is required for daily collaboration with colleagues and partners in Canada and internationally
