About the role
- Senior indirect procurement specialist leading category strategies, sourcing, negotiations, and savings initiatives. Supporting Pharmascience, a Canadian pharmaceutical manufacturer, across production-related services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance
- Lead strategic sourcing processes, including RFx, evaluation, negotiations, and contracting
- Develop and execute category strategies to optimize costs, reduce risk, and create value
- Analyze markets, spend, and trends to identify improvement opportunities
- Act as a business partner to business units and provide strategic procurement leadership
- Develop, negotiate, and manage relationships with strategic suppliers
- Ensure governance and lifecycle management of strategic contracts
- Identify and deliver savings, cost avoidance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Track and communicate the progress of projects and initiatives
- Lead strategic sourcing activities for one or more non-production categories, including CAPEX, IT, professional services, and MRO
- Reporting to the Head of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing/Indirect Goods and Services
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in similar roles and/or a related manufacturing sector
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, and/or specialized training in procurement or logistics
- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
- Collaborative communication, planning, and project management skills
- Ability to persuade and influence
- Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Experience with cost-reduction and process-improvement projects
- Ability to collaborate with suppliers and/or clients located outside the province of Quebec
