About the role
- Java Full Stack Developer building AWS microservices for Portage CyberTech’s digital trust, identity, privacy, and security solutions. Applying AI-assisted development in an R&D-focused agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle in an agile environment
- Develop and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices
- Contribute to full stack development, with a backend focus and frontend work as needed
- Use AI development tools, including copilots, agentic workflows, and AI coding assistants, to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency
- Work closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams
- Design and develop modern, R&D-oriented solutions in a microservices environment
Requirements
- DEC or university degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience in software development
- Minimum of 3 years of software development experience
- Methodical and well-organized
- Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking skills
- Comfortable communicating in English, both spoken and written, in a professional environment
- French required; English is an asset / fluency in English required for some job duties
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot for developing and deploying scalable microservices
- Experience with AWS Cloud, including ECS Fargate, EC2, Lambda, S3, ElastiCache, and other AWS services
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas, PostgreSQL, and MySQL (AWS Aurora)
- Experience with RabbitMQ
- Experience with Keycloak, Twilio, and Entrust PKI
- Experience with IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, and Maven
- Experience with Git and SonarQube
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Microsoft Teams
- Preferred: REST APIs; React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; SQL and NoSQL databases; DevOps; hashing, encryption, and digital signatures; OWASP Top 10
