Business Analyst supporting patient registration, identity management, and scheduling applications for Providence Health Care in Vancouver. Improving data quality, integrations, testing, and operational processes across healthcare sites.
Responsibilities
Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, use cases, business rules, and test plans
Liaise between business stakeholders and technical teams to align solutions with operational needs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve registration issues and improve processes across multiple sites
Implement system and process changes to comply with Ministry of Health, CIHI, MIS, and organizational policies
Develop and maintain audit tools, reports, and data quality metrics for patient registration and identity management
Analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to registration standards, data integrity, and operational efficiency
Provide application support, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate incident resolution with technical teams
Document workflows, business processes, system requirements, and user communications
Plan, coordinate, and execute integration, user acceptance, regression, and post-implementation testing
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders supporting registration, scheduling, and client identity management initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management/Technology, Science, or Business Administration, with a minimum of three years' recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Comprehensive knowledge of client identity management and client registration data collection policies and standards
Working knowledge of information security and confidentiality guidelines, including the Freedom of Information and Protection and Privacy Act
Knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques, principles, and practices
Understanding of systems analysis and design, including data flow diagrams and continuous quality improvement
Knowledge of hospital operations and healthcare administration requirements
Strong verbal and written communication and business writing skills
Ability to analyze operational problems and identify innovative solutions
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and diverse user communities
Ability to manage vendor and external organization relationships
Facilitation skills and ability to coordinate and lead work groups
Ability to manage work activities efficiently
Ability to effectively use related hardware and software
Skilled in Microsoft Office for Business
Testing may be required
