About the role

  • Structural Drafter producing CAD designs for renewable and utility power facilities. Supporting high-voltage engineering projects at a Western Canadian power consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer-aided drafting and compatible software tools to support engineering and drafting projects
  • Execute drafter assignments under the supervision of an experienced project engineer or project manager
  • Develop sub-professional work knowledge and abilities
  • Detail structures and foundations
  • Support planning studies, system protection engineering, and high-voltage design projects for renewable and utility power facilities up to 500 kV

Requirements

  • 2-year college diploma in CAD drafting/design, or equivalent
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation/Bentley
  • 4+ years of experience with detailing structures and foundations
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information and exercise independent judgment
  • Detail oriented
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Ability to work individually and on a team
  • Occasional travel/driving may be required
  • May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be a resident and residing in Alberta or British Columbia, or willing to relocate to Alberta or British Columbia
  • No work visa sponsorship provided
