About the role
- Structural Drafter supporting high-voltage renewable and utility power projects for Western Canada's electric power engineering consultant. Detailing structures and foundations using AutoCAD or MicroStation/Bentley.
Responsibilities
- Utilize computer-aided drafting and compatible software tools to support engineering and drafting projects
- Execute drafter assignments under the supervision of an experienced project engineer or project manager
- Develop sub-professional work knowledge and abilities
- Detail structures and foundations
- Support planning studies, system protection engineering, and high-voltage design projects for renewable and utility power facilities
Requirements
- 2-year college diploma in CAD drafting/design, or equivalent
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation/Bentley
- 4+ years of experience with detailing structures and foundations
- Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with confidential information and exercise independent judgment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills
- Ability to work individually and on a team
- Occasional travel/driving may be required
- May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must reside in Alberta or British Columbia, or be willing to relocate to Alberta or British Columbia
- Will not provide sponsorship for work visas
