About the role
- Lead Full Stack Developer providing technical direction and mentoring junior developers at RBC. Collaborating on innovative payment solutions for commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for solutions from requirements through implementation
- Collaborate with the solution architect to define end-to-end technical solutions and develop architecture solution blueprints
- Conduct technical design reviews to ensure the conformance to the solution architecture
- Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on complex technical decisions
- Lead the design and development of complex, scalable applications using Angular and SpringBoot
- Develop and support highly scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices within an Agile development team
- Identify opportunities to improve solution resilience, reusability, complexity, and security
- Ensure high code quality through automated unit and functional testing
- Identify technical issues and risks; define mitigation approaches and drive resolution
- Champion secure coding practices and security protocols
- Work directly with product owners, delivery managers, QE members, and other developers to deliver exceptional products
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- 10+ years hands-on experience with Angular 6+ and TypeScript
- 10+ years hands-on experience with SpringBoot and Java backend development
- 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs and microservices
- 7+ years of experience with cloud and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS)
- Demonstrated expertise in security protocols and gateways (JWT, OAuth2.0, OIDC, SSL Certificates)
- 7+ years of full software development lifecycle experience with CI/CD pipelines and thorough testing practices
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
- Proven ability to architect scalable, maintainable solutions and lead technical discussions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear explanations
- Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers
