About the role

  • Lead Full Stack Developer providing technical direction and mentoring junior developers at RBC. Collaborating on innovative payment solutions for commercial clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for solutions from requirements through implementation
  • Collaborate with the solution architect to define end-to-end technical solutions and develop architecture solution blueprints
  • Conduct technical design reviews to ensure the conformance to the solution architecture
  • Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on complex technical decisions
  • Lead the design and development of complex, scalable applications using Angular and SpringBoot
  • Develop and support highly scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices within an Agile development team
  • Identify opportunities to improve solution resilience, reusability, complexity, and security
  • Ensure high code quality through automated unit and functional testing
  • Identify technical issues and risks; define mitigation approaches and drive resolution
  • Champion secure coding practices and security protocols
  • Work directly with product owners, delivery managers, QE members, and other developers to deliver exceptional products

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience
  • 10+ years hands-on experience with Angular 6+ and TypeScript
  • 10+ years hands-on experience with SpringBoot and Java backend development
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs and microservices
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS)
  • Demonstrated expertise in security protocols and gateways (JWT, OAuth2.0, OIDC, SSL Certificates)
  • 7+ years of full software development lifecycle experience with CI/CD pipelines and thorough testing practices
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
  • Proven ability to architect scalable, maintainable solutions and lead technical discussions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear explanations
  • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers
