About the role
- Senior Municipal Engineer leading civil engineering projects at GEMTEC. Emphasizing on municipal and transportation infrastructure and site development in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing civil engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and within scope
- municipal and transportation infrastructure, commercial and residential subdivision land development, site grading and mass detailed site earthworks for underground services
- Preparation of stamped engineering drawings, quality assurance/control specifications and quantity estimates issued for tender and construction project administration.
- Storm water modelling and management civil design.
- Organizing/carrying out construction quantity surveying / field inspections.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Preparing proposals and supporting business development initiatives
- Participating in the implementation and adaptation of existing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all project work.
- Acting in support of other GEMTEC offices when needed to complete projects.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in civil engineering practice with a preference for municipal engineering experience
- Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGNB
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a commitment to quality
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 (or newer version)
- Experience with ArchGIS and/or QGIS software platforms would be considered an asset, as would experience with hydraulic modeling software suites
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.
