About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop brand social media strategies and guide day-to-day content creation
  • Set content priorities, assess the cultural relevance of ideas, and establish strategic action plans for General Motors brands
  • Develop social media-specific strategies, define team roles, and determine content formats across Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X
  • Conduct annual audits of social media platforms and industry best practices
  • Write content briefs aligned with the U.S. publishing calendar and incorporating relevant Canadian events, holidays, and cultural moments
  • Coordinate paid promotion strategies for top-performing organic content to drive conversions and expand reach
  • Collaborate with public relations and communications teams to integrate earned media initiatives into social media plans
  • Test the viability of creative ideas against platform algorithms, audience behaviors, and brand objectives
  • Contribute to real-time strategies to capitalize on timely opportunities and manage major announcements
  • Partner with data analysts to review performance data and translate channel insights into actionable strategic adjustments
  • Contribute to the development of integrated briefs and collaborate with partner agencies
  • Monitor new feature launches, trends, developments in the electric vehicle market, and culture

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in social media strategy at an agency or consumer brand
  • Proven social media experience, including community development and the execution of innovative creative projects on social platforms
  • Experience developing social media strategy guides, planning channels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Deep knowledge of Quebec culture
