About the role

  • Senior Consultant identifying property tax savings and managing assessments and appeals for clients. Ryan provides tax services to Global 5000 companies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify property tax savings opportunities for clients
  • Conduct research and analyze and interpret comparable assessment data, market data, and sales transactions
  • Assist with assessment review and monitor the appeal process for client portfolios
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
  • Demonstrate understanding of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios
  • Build awareness of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements
  • Collect, review, and understand client-provided data
  • Inspect properties and prepare reports as required by management
  • Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions
  • Use software to work efficiently with client data
  • Handle appeals and monitor the appeals process
  • Attend client status calls and meetings and provide supporting data and findings to the leadership team
  • Develop an understanding of clients' industries, trends, processes, and core businesses
  • Participate in recruiting efforts
  • Interact and communicate with team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, Public Administration, MIS/Entrepreneurship, or International Business, or Diploma in Appraisal and Assessment
  • Two to three years of appraisal, audit, or tax-related experience
  • Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred
  • Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
  • Valid driver's license required
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Job duties must adhere to privacy laws and internal governance for protecting confidential information, trade secrets, data, and company records
