Project Officer advancing Nova Scotia housing programs through statistical research, policy analysis, and evaluation. Supporting projects, recommendations, performance measures, and ministerial materials.
Responsibilities
Lead or support housing-program projects from initiation through close and lessons learned
Conduct specialized and complex statistical research and program analysis
Develop outcome evaluation frameworks and innovative policy and program options
Formulate policy and program recommendations using research, analysis, methodologies, and stakeholder consultations
Analyze policy options and prepare summaries, recommendations, and reports on complex issues, programs, and services
Design and implement data collection procedures
Assist in designing performance and outcome measures, accountability reports, and key performance indicators
Coordinate and prepare ministerial briefing materials, cabinet submissions, presentations, and correspondence
Communicate and promote program information to external stakeholders through online, virtual, print, and presentation channels
Monitor housing-program practices and innovations across Canada and worldwide and share findings with the team
Requirements
Completed bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience in policy, programming, and research; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Proficiency in data analysis, research, and program evaluation
Project management experience
Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with staff at all levels and collaborating with various stakeholders
Ability to develop innovative solutions
Experience in policy formulation, providing recommendations, and evaluation frameworks
Ability to link research findings to organizational objectives
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
