Responsibilities
- Designing and developing electrical systems for commercial, retail, institutional, and industrial buildings.
- Preparing detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Completing electrical construction drawing packages and supporting contract administration through construction.
- Conducting site reviews, load calculations (HV & LV), lighting design, lighting controls, power distribution, and fire alarm system design.
- Designing emergency power systems, security systems, and IT infrastructure.
- Coordinating with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participating in utility coordination, negotiations, and ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Supporting project delivery from concept design through final construction review.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering/design
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Building Sciences / Electrical Engineering Technology diploma
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with electrical design software such as AGI32, ETAP, SKM (asset)
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant building codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
