About the role

  • Account Manager growing SGS Beta Analytic’s geology and hydrology testing business across the US and Canada. Managing client relationships, sales cycles, proposals, and industry travel.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the geology and hydrology industries in the US and Canada
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Understand clients’ 14C and stable isotope testing needs and match them with appropriate SGS Beta services
  • Present tailored service proposals and communicate SGS Beta’s value
  • Deliver presentations online or in person
  • Attend in-person meetings with key decision makers at companies and governmental institutions
  • Manage the full sales process from lead generation to sample submission
  • Represent SGS Beta at key trade shows
  • Collaborate internally to ensure smooth project handover and service delivery
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and meet performance KPIs
  • Provide market insights to management to support sales strategy development
  • Represent the voice of the customer within the organization
  • Uphold SGS Beta professional and ethical standards
  • Continuously develop knowledge of SGS Beta services
  • Travel 20–30%, including day and overnight trips, for key account meetings, conferences, and business-development events

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build trusted client relationships
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract closure
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales management tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple accounts and initiatives
  • Ability to analyze client needs, develop solutions, and negotiate effectively
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals
  • Advanced degree or professional sales certification preferred
  • Familiarity with sales forecasting and pipeline management methodologies preferred
  • Experience with proposal management and RFQ/RFP processes preferred
  • Multilingual capabilities preferred; French, German, Portuguese, or Spanish is a plus
  • Demonstrated success in cross-selling and upselling initiatives preferred
