About the role

  • Petroleum Sampler responsible for sampling petroleum and chemical products from various sources. Ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols in compliance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Takes samples of various petroleum or chemical products
  • Obtain a representative portion of products from ships, barges and shore tanks
  • Work according to company and terminal procedures
  • Sample shore-based tanks or vessels according to established procedures
  • Identify and correctly enter all required data on sample labels
  • Communicate with Senior Petroleum Product Inspectors about work orders
  • Clean and maintain inspection equipment and ensure its proper calibration
  • Ensure that all relevant data is correctly recorded in documents or files
  • Clean and maintain company trucks
  • Ensure the cleanliness of workstations and inspection rooms

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience required or equivalent experience through education
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a production or manufacturing sector role
  • Valid local driver’s license, Class 5
  • Experience in a petroleum-related field would be an asset
  • Excellent math skills would be an asset
  • Proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
