Responsibilities
Lead the hardware engineering team to deliver innovative sensorized container twins, integrating PCB, electronics, and mechanical design with customer-specific packaging geometries
Drive the adoption of best practices in hardware design, including design for manufacturability, testability and reliability
Scale and grow the team, establishing effective onboarding, mentoring, and training processes for new members
Direct the creation and refinement of manufacturing tooling, such as custom fixtures, jigs, and equipment, to ensure scalable, consistent and reliable end products
Collaborate with software, firmware, and product management teams to align hardware design with product goals and market requirements
Evaluate emerging technologies and materials to improve product performance, efficiency, and innovation
Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing hardware engineering team across electronics, mechanical, and embedded disciplines
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Support professional development, career growth, and cross-functional collaboration for engineering staff
Lead technical planning, resource allocation, and project execution within the hardware team
Collaborate and Define the hardware vision and roadmap to support long-term product innovation and organizational growth
Ensure engineering decisions balance performance, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
Establish engineering standards, documentation practices, and best-in-class design processes
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
10+ years of leadership experience in hardware engineering, R&D, or product development
Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary hardware teams and delivering complex hardware products
Strong technical expertise in electronics, PCB design, mechanical integration, and embedded systems
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
Experience defining hardware roadmaps, technical standards, and driving engineering innovation
