About the role
- Intermediate Front End Developer building Angular interfaces for Smile Digital Health’s FHIR-based healthcare data platform. Developing scalable UI components, tests, and front-end architecture.
Responsibilities
- Shape the approach, scope, milestones, and solution design of responsive, performant, and scalable user interfaces for assigned modules and features
- Work with development teams to implement solutions by writing code and creating components and modules
- Write maintainable code and unit tests, maintain front-end documentation, participate in testing cycles, and resolve defects
- Develop and maintain deep understanding of functionality to support the team
- Lead architectural design discussions for Angular front-end designs and mentor or coach developers on best practices
- Contribute to and follow team and department coding standards
- Attend client meetings as required
- Lead and participate in in-person code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative problem analysis
- Participate in monthly Technology meetings to guide corporate technical processes, architecture, and strategy
- Build and maintain user-facing aspects of Smile Digital Health’s Clinical Intelligence platform
- Translate design concepts into functional technical roadmaps and develop interactive, intuitive user interfaces
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design and implement applications, and test system components
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with Angular, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, CSS and Git
- Experience in the healthcare and/or technology industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent and/or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated experience with building apps using Angular and an in-depth understanding of core concepts including state management, observables, interceptors, and routing
- Familiar with agile and scrum processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication for effective collaboration and clear documentation
- Experience with Slack, Google technologies, Figma, Jira, GitLab, Postman, Microsoft Azure, Jasmine/Karma, Cordova/Ionic, REST APIs, and Bootstrap preferred
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and networking preferred
- Knowledge or experience in healthcare, HL7/FHIR is an asset but not required
