About the role

  • Principal Aerospace Structures Integration Engineer designing and integrating aircraft structures for SOGECLAIR Digital Engineering. Supporting certification, production, PLM configuration, and technical governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and define aircraft structures, including concepts, 3D models, assemblies, detail and installation drawings, metallic and composite parts, fasteners, interfaces, and tolerances.
  • Ensure structural integration across disciplines (loads and stresses, systems, aerodynamics, materials, manufacturing, interiors, quality, etc.) and resolve complex geometrical and technical issues.
  • Ensure design robustness by considering load paths, manufacturability, assembly, inspection, maintainability, weight, and cost.
  • Support certification, production, and in-service operations through technical substantiation, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Manage design definition and changes within the PLM environment and ensure data traceability.
  • Serve as a technical authority on complex structural issues, guide design strategies, and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Contribute to the development of organizational expertise through mentoring, knowledge transfer, standards, governance, and technical alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or a related field).
  • 15+ years of experience in aerospace engineering or a related industry.
  • Strong expertise in aircraft structural design and configuration, including metallic and composite structures, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and GD&T.
  • Proficiency in 3D definition, technical drawings, manufacturability, assembly, and inspection.
  • Good knowledge of materials, processes, aerospace standards, certification, and configuration management.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and Microsoft Office; NX and Teamcenter are assets.
  • Experience with PLM processes, engineering changes, and configuration management.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate, influence technical decisions, and mentor teams.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is an asset.
