Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform advanced EMC analyses (EMI, HIRF, LIRF, lightning, electrostatic) using simulations, analytical approaches and similarity assessments.
  • Actively contribute to resolving complex electromagnetic issues in support of certification as well as production activities and in-service aircraft.
  • Define and plan EMC activities for various engineering projects, identifying technical risks and prioritizing actions.
  • Assess the EMC impact of design changes (systems, structures) and propose robust compliance strategies.
  • Review and approve key technical deliverables: test plans, analysis and test reports, ensuring compliance with certification requirements.
  • Participate in defining and evolving EMC technical requirements at the aircraft, system and structure levels.
  • Represent EMC expertise at multidisciplinary reviews and collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers and international partners.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and interns by sharing your expertise.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in EMC test campaigns (in Canada and internationally), including preparation of procedures, supervision of tests and analysis of results.
  • Draft compliance reports for certification.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of EMC experience in aerospace (systems/structures); experience in spark/arcing prevention is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of standards (RTCA/DO-160, SAE ARP) and regulations (TCCA, FAA, EASA).
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and independently.
  • Recognized expertise in EMC with experience in design reviews and technical risk management.
  • Experience on aircraft programs and with EM simulation tools is an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
