About the role

  • DevOps Engineer building AWS infrastructure and automated systems for S&P Global’s financial data and technology solutions. Supporting resilient applications through Terraform, CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and cloud operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create infrastructure and environments supporting platforms and applications using Terraform and related technologies
  • Implement DevOps technologies and processes, including containerization, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, metrics, and monitoring
  • Automate operational processes
  • Support, monitor, maintain, and improve infrastructure and live applications
  • Maintain cloud-account health for security, cost, and best practices
  • Assist development, testing, and client services teams
  • Build functional systems that improve customer experience
  • Represent the team at various organizational levels and collaborate across technology and business areas

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Linux/Unix administration in IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS models
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting enterprise applications on AWS, including Route53, ELB, VPC, EC2, S3, ECS, and SQS
  • Good understanding of Terraform and similar infrastructure-as-code technologies
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB/2, and DynamoDB
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or equivalent
  • Experience with enterprise microservices deployed through code pipelines using containerization
  • Ability to write scripts using Bash and Python
  • Ability to understand Java, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Effective business- and technical-level communication skills
  • Experience working in a global team
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative and adapt to changing situations
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (implied by Canada-specific role context)
