About the role
- Engineering Intern in Hydropower & Dams team, assisting in design and analysis tasks. Gaining hands-on experience in civil engineering projects focused on renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the engineering team in designing and optimizing hydropower and dams structures.
- Performing design and drafting tasks following industry codes and client standards.
- Conducting modeling and analysis of structures or the flow through natural rivers, lakes, hydraulic water conveyances and control structures using relevant software tools.
- Estimating power and energy from existing or planned hydropower plant.
- Supporting the project teams in the development of design documentation, plans, and reports.
- Conducting site visits as required.
- Participating in project coordination meetings.
Requirements
- Engineering student at an accredited Canadian university. Post graduate candidate preferred.
- Prior work experience with hydroelectric facilities preferably within a consulting engineering or utility environment an asset
- Knowledge of a variety of software programs used in engineering analysis and design; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Eligible to work in Canada for a work term from May-December 2026 (8 months)
