Responsibilities
Plan, design, and deliver complex fire protection systems for a variety of projects.
Perform hydraulic calculations and fire hydrant flow analysis in accordance with NFPA standards.
Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Conduct fire and life safety code analyses and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Apply engineering judgment to resolve complex technical challenges.
Perform field investigations, construction site visits, and inspections.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering.
Experience performing sprinkler system hydraulic calculations using tools such as HydraCAD, HydraCalc, or AutoSprink.
Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), and the National Fire Code of Canada (NFCC).
Familiarity with provincial building codes and regulatory requirements across Canada is an asset.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project development and construction phases.
Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; exposure to additional building performance tools is an asset.
