Responsibilities

  • Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects of all sizes and complexities.
  • Site work including as-is investigations and assessments, scope validation, construction, commissioning and start-up support.
  • Lead the design and development of I&C construction drawing deliverables.
  • Specify and produce instrumentation specifications and datasheets.
  • Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and follow through procurement processes.
  • Design control/server rooms and develop functional specifications, control logic, and control philosophies.
  • Perform calculations for I&C equipment and systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications for communication network and design facility industrial networks.
  • Assisting with the development of Construction Work Packages (CWPs).
  • Planning, coordinating completion, and reviewing deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University
  • 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
  • A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).
  • You are a self-starter, with the ability to handle change and work with minimal supervision.
  • You possess and consistently demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Previous experience in engineering or EIT role in mining projects is an asset.
  • Demonstrated and reference confirmed ability to produce accurate, well‑organized work and perform self‑checks for quality and completeness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, and a demonstrated ability to learn software tools efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment including working with remote team members through MS Teams.
  • Experience in the design of underground mines will be a strong asset.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites or other Stantec offices (~10% travel).
