About the role

  • Sun Life’s graduate rotation develops Western Canada Account Executives for group benefits sales. Two rotations build underwriting, service, client relationship, and portfolio management expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Complete two rotations over two years in preparation for a career as a Sun Life Account Executive
  • Receive individualized learning opportunities and coaching from the Program Manager and Business leaders
  • Accelerate and deepen knowledge of the group benefits business
  • Work as a Group Underwriter on risk selection, pricing, renewals, plan changes, revisions, and new business opportunities
  • Build relationships with sales teams and support renewals, quotations, and inquiries
  • Work as a Service Specialist/Associate partnering with Account Executives to build and maintain Advisor relationships in the SunAdvantage small business market
  • Retain existing business by meeting or exceeding client needs and expectations
  • Discuss Group Benefits issues and develop knowledge of Sun Life products and services
  • Participate in development conversations and complete a progress scorecard
  • Transition into an Account Executive position after approximately two years
  • Manage a profitable portfolio of group benefits business
  • Meet external clients and advisors, build business relationships, and deliver an exceptional client experience

Requirements

  • Be in the graduating year or completing the final year of an accredited undergraduate program
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Balanced academic, extracurricular, and volunteer experiences
  • Willingness to relocate within the hired region in Canada for Account Executive placement
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written, required for Quebec only
