About the role
- ServiceNow Associate Software Engineer building and supporting enterprise applications for Sun Life, a global financial services company. Developing integrations, automation, and reliable solutions in an Agile Corporate IT team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions
- Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs
- Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools
- Partner with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Provide hands-on application support, resolve incidents, and troubleshoot issues
- Contribute to system and project documentation
- Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices
- Identify and drive automation opportunities
- Join rotational on-call support to ensure production systems run smoothly
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Recent graduates with 0–2 years of internship/co-op experience, OR professionals with 3–5 years of software development or application support experience
- Hands-on programming experience with JavaScript, Python, or similar
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with scripting and automation, including PowerShell or shell scripting
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts, Agile, and DevOps
- Sharp problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Passion for learning new technologies and tools
- Clear communication and collaborative teamwork
- Customer-first mindset
- ServiceNow development experience is a nice to have
- Third-party risk management knowledge is a nice to have
- Exposure to financial systems or enterprise applications is a nice to have
