About the role
- Student MarTech Software Engineer developing web applications and MarTech initiatives for Sun Life’s financial-services business. Supporting coding, testing, debugging, and implementation across hybrid teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to develop and deliver high-quality web applications meeting business needs
- Contribute to defining timelines and plans
- Analyze and estimate feasibility, cost, time, and scope
- Complete coding, testing, debugging, and implementation activities
- Support delivery of large-scale content management applications and MarTech initiatives
- Support project implementations and system upgrades, including periodic weekend/after-hours work as required
Requirements
- Enrolled in a University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline
- Graduation date of April 2027 or later
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to align to changing priorities
- Able to work on teams delivering in Waterfall or agile styles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multi-site team
- Self-directed and proactive
- Experience developing applications
- Knowledge of MarTech platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Understanding of AEM CQ, JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, AJAX, JSON, HTML5, and CSS3
- Knowledge and experience with Java, J2EE, Unix/Linux, web, and web hosting technologies
- Experience with content management systems such as OpenText WEM or TeamSite
- Experience using DevOps tools including Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket, Maven, and CDD/Ansible
- Understanding of web applications and server technologies
- Experience with open-source frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Velocity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Periodic weekend/after-hours work may be required
- Occasional travel between Sun Life locations in Toronto and Waterloo may be required
