About the role

  • Product Owner shaping digital advisor platforms and journeys at Sun Life, a Canadian insurance, wealth and health provider. Driving roadmaps, agile delivery, adoption and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Platform/Journey Owners in designing product vision aligned to business strategy and outcomes
  • Develop and deliver product roadmaps aligned to user journey maps and story maps
  • Own product-specific objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Monitor and measure end-user behaviour and product usage to refine roadmaps and feature pipelines
  • Integrate usability studies and research into product requirements
  • Engage Advisors throughout the requirements lifecycle
  • Maximize value delivered by agile teams and ensure products meet user needs
  • Translate product vision into strategic roadmaps and prioritized backlogs
  • Research complex issues, evaluate options and recommend approaches
  • Collaborate with agile/Kanban delivery teams and adjust plans to deliver OKRs
  • Review QA test plans, facilitate testing and review early builds against functional requirements
  • Support business validation and ensure data integrity
  • Partner with Change Management on adoption strategies to drive Advisor usage
  • Identify and mitigate issues and risks
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements
  • Identify affected stakeholders and determine engagement approaches
  • Escalate and communicate key issues, risks and interdependencies
  • Collaborate with Advisors, field management, Enterprise Services, CXO, legal, compliance, risk and other business units
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners and executives
  • Maintain communication with internal partners and identify collaboration opportunities
  • Tailor written and verbal communications to maximize buy-in and productive relationships

Requirements

  • Relevant agile digital delivery experience
  • Strong knowledge of distribution, wealth and/or insurance
  • Knowledge of Salesforce an asset
  • Proven implementation experience of systems or digital capabilities in financial services
  • Knowledge of technology platforms or ability to learn about technology and digital products
  • Experience working on technical products is a plus
  • Ability to solve problems by balancing business, operations, design and technology perspectives
  • Business acumen to analyze and generate insights from OKRs
  • Foundational quantitative analytical skills to support business cases
  • Growth mindset and passion to challenge the status quo
  • Belief in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety and trust
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
