About the role

  • QA Automation Engineer building automated end-to-end testing for SWTCH’s EV charging platform. Improving software quality across charging stations, APIs, mobile apps, and backend services.

Responsibilities

  • Guide Product Managers in translating use cases into testable requirements and edge cases
  • Define test strategy and testing standards
  • Design the automated E2E and user-flow testing approach from scratch
  • Develop and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites
  • Implement the automated portions of defined testing plans
  • Mentor and train engineers on writing, maintaining, and extending automated tests
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation is not yet in place
  • Identify, document, and track defects
  • Work with Engineering to drive timely defect resolution
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor test execution and analyze failures
  • Continuously improve test coverage and reliability
  • Build an automated E2E testing practice for SWTCH’s EV charging platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • 3+ years focused on test automation
  • Experience testing web applications, APIs, mobile apps, and backend services
  • Experience designing an automated testing practice from scratch
  • Experience partnering with Product Managers to identify testing needs and edge cases
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar
  • Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile practices
  • Experience mentoring or upskilling engineers in testing practices
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Experience with IoT, connected devices, or hardware-interfacing software is nice to have, not required
  • Experience with EV charging, OCPP, or similar device-communication protocols is nice to have
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is nice to have
  • Performance or load testing experience is nice to have
