About the role

  • Release Train Engineer coordinating Agile Release Trains, risks, dependencies, and enterprise delivery. Supporting Symbiotic Digital’s IT consulting clients across Ontario remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Release Train Engineer support services across multiple software projects and Agile teams
  • Coordinate teams working on the same release product and features
  • Ensure multiple teams plan and execute as a single release train
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and impediments
  • Facilitate release planning meetings, Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning, Sprint Demos, and Inspect and Adapt sessions
  • Resolve and escalate impediments as required
  • Coach team members and stakeholders on SAFe and Agile practices
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Define project scope and objectives while ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and monitor progress
  • Keep stakeholders informed of key milestones
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and costs through appropriate governance practices
  • Measure project performance using project management tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed
  • Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, third parties, and vendors
  • Document and manage risks, issues, decisions, and action items
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Facilitate approvals of key documentation
  • Gather and clarify project requirements with stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks based on team strengths and experience levels
  • Track project performance and achievement of short-term and long-term goals
  • Meet budget objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop and apply leadership skills
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document business needs
  • Assist leadership teams with status reporting requirements
  • Respond proactively to business and program issues and escalate appropriately
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting multiple software projects in various IT roles
  • 5+ years of Program Management or Release Train Engineer (RTE) experience
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC)
  • Deep understanding of Agile development and testing methodologies
  • Experience with SAFe Agile environments
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated experience applying repeatable processes and methodologies to enterprise-wide technology initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, planning, and leadership abilities
  • Excellent remote collaboration skills
  • Experience working across multiple projects and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to coordinate effectively within large matrix organizations
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience collaborating with global teams
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Experience with Agile development processes preferred
  • Experience in packaged SDLC environments preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
