About the role

  • Senior Account Executive winning new business for Tailscale’s secure networking software. Owning prospect-to-purchase sales cycles and building startup sales playbooks in Vancouver.

Responsibilities

  • Win new business by finding prospective customers, educating them about Tailscale services, and helping them succeed
  • Experiment and move quickly by analyzing market landscapes and customer trends to inform sales campaigns
  • Travel to or organize local events and attend large industry events to evangelize Tailscale
  • Support customers across all time zones
  • Manage and organize activities, pipeline, and forecast in Gong and Salesforce
  • Own the sales cycle from prospecting through purchase
  • Prospect and source approximately one third of the sales pipeline
  • Build the sales playbook for startup sales

Requirements

  • 2+ years of prospecting or closing experience in a door-to-door or in-person sales role
  • Ambition to build, not just follow, a sales playbook
  • Technical background or curiosity in technology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive approach from lead to close
  • Experience self-sourcing opportunities and guiding customers from discovery through closed-won deals
  • Experience working with senior technical buyers, including VP Engineering, CTO, Head of Platform, and CISO
  • Based in Vancouver
  • Hybrid work required: 3 days per week in-office
