About the role
- Senior Cloud Architect at Tantalus Systems leading modernization of VM-based enterprise applications and cloud architecture design. Collaborating across teams to implement a robust, cloud-oriented platform in BC.
Responsibilities
- Lead the modernization of a portfolio of VM-based enterprise applications into a unified, cloud-oriented platform
- Assess the current application, integration, and infrastructure landscape
- Design a hybrid cloud platform that supports VMs, containers, and FaaS/serverless
- Lead application modernization initiatives
- Modernize the data layer by planning and executing migration of core transactional and time-series workloads
- Define service-level objectives (SLOs), SLIs, and KPIs for performance, stability, and availability
- Collaborate with DevOps/SRE/platform engineering teams to implement infrastructure as code
- Optimize cloud cost and performance through right-sizing and autoscaling strategies
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud architectures for enterprise applications
- Proven experience leading application modernization or cloud migration programs
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and data architectures
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD
- Experience designing and operating containerized workloads
- Familiarity with serverless/FaaS and event-driven patterns
- Experience with relational databases and practical exposure to PostgreSQL in production environments
- Strong communication skills
